Day 51 - Tuesday's Trio at 365 Cards

It's been forever since I've participated at 365 Cards.  I wanted to last week, during the white space challenges but with papers, exams, and house projects there was little time for card making.  Today I used my afternoon and evening to make a bundle of cards for my friend.  It was her birthday yesterday and each year I make her a set of cards.  She says she looks forward to them so I will continue to make them.:)  I usually make two of each as my other friend also gets a set next month for her birthday.  This card is
Red, Stamped, and has Alpha Stickers.
The image is from Stampin' Up and I colored it with my markers and blender pens from Stampin' Up.  I don't know where the paper is from or the ribbon as they are from the bottom of my bucket.
As you can see the Alpha Letters are on the inside.  I couldn't fit them anywhere on the front so I put them inside and added the rest of the words with stamps.

Come back tomorrow to see some of the other cards I made.

my house

My husband announced a few months ago that we were going to sell our house this spring and buy one with a yard.  My kids have been wanting a house with a yard and DOG forever.  To get ready we have been finishing all our projects that we started.  It is getting down to the final weeks and we are almost there.  Tomorrow I will be spending time cleaning and finishing off the kitchen.  I wanted to share two pictures of my favorite part of our ensuite renovation.
This cupboard used to be a closet with bifold doors.  It had shelves in it but was not a very good use of space.  It was too deep to use efficiently and things often got lost in it.  We took out the shelves and replaced the insides with lower cabinet and upper cabinet.  I built drawers for the bottom and we added a shelf between the two parts.  Because most of the parts were bought at the Habitat Restore and used building supply stores it cost less than $100 to redo.  I love how it turned out and think it is way more usable!  The towel holder is a wine rack I found at Rona.  I took the handle off and it works great for my hand towels.
Enjoy!!

Check back soon to see my cards I'm making for my friends birthdays.

my portfolio for education class

This semester I took an education class and had to create a portfolio as a final project.  It had to include the presentation we did in class as well as what we learned and a number of reflections.  Below are some pictures from my completed pages.
This page was on an assignment on teaching techniques.  We had to watch a movie and critique the teacher.  Well, School of Rock was a great movie but I wouldn't want Dewey to teach my children.  I loved adding stitching and beads to look like music!
We had to do a mini lesson based on a chapter in the text book.  My partner and I did it on Critical and Creative Thinking.  I used a lesson that my daughters kindergarten teaches when teaching about primary colors, horizontal and vertical lines, as well as about Piet Mondrian.  It went great and it was fun to see everyones creations.
The last page was my favorite and I almost didn't have it.  I forgot some of the requirements that were at the top of the page of criteria.  All my pages were so different from each other but show all the sides of my personality.

missing in action

Hi everyone
Sorry it's been ages.  I was away for a week and then have been sooo busy with school and such.  Boy does life run away.  This weekend I will be working on my portfolio for school and will try to post some of the pages.  I haven't really created much of anything so I'm feeling a little dry.  When this semester is finished I think I'm going to go card and bag crazy, maybe even a baby quilt in there.  Hopefully I can finish a few things and get the house ready for sale before the next semester starts in the middle of May.
Stay tuned for my portfolio...
